The Traveller Culture and History in Education Bill Seanad third stage

The Seanad Traveller Culture and History in Education Bill passed through the Seanad on October 17^th without amendment and will go forward for Committee stage. Link here http://www.kildarestreet.com/sendebates/?id=2018-10-17a.374&s=Traveller#g411

In the meantime, meetings have been held with the then Minister for Education who commissioned an audit of the Curriculum by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. This will be concluded by March 2019.

Two groups comprising Traveller interests have been suggested to support the work of the NCCA, in preparation for a final report.

The ITM now wish to convene a consultation with Travellers and ITM members to seek your views on the possible inclusions to be considered in the development of the curriculum on Traveller History and Culture on Tuesday December 11^th 11am – 2pm in Exchange House, Dublin. Refreshments provided.
